I don't keep up with all the other team's individual talent and who's losing what players as well as I should so I would not tackle making a top 25 or even a top ten. But, just knowing what we have coming back and staying with my confidence in the incoming freshman class, I just cannot see there being a team in this country we cannot beat, including Connecticut, this season. Reports I'm getting from some very knowledgeable wbb fans returning from Cuba are confirming to me we are, in deed, as loaded in talent as I've been envisioning since last season ended.
I'm confident I'm right when I say I think Coach Walz is going to prove to be an outstanding coach with real talent. He allowed Angel and Shoni to realize their talent in games. He never restrained them and those teams were his best teams. Yes, he now has two genuine superstars, namely Hines-Allen and Durr or three, I'm adding Jazz, superstars on the floor he must keep happy and mesh them into a team. I have absolutely no concern he will do just that. Durr will respect Hine's Allen's multi years of stardom as will Jazz respect each of them. I'm confident Mariya will become even more conscious of her passing and team play with all this scoring punch. Freshmen are not, to help Courtnee, Kylee and Cierra will give us strength and height in the paint defensively we've really needed and now have. They'll make noise in some big games by their mere presence underneath. Lots of fouls to give and lots of size with rested bodies flowing in and out of the game in the middle. These three centers will make us competitive with anyone, yes, including South Carolina.
Notre Dame? Yes, we play them there. With what we had last year, we led them 95% of the game. With all this additional help and added experience, why should we not believe we cannot hang with them in South Bend? And then there's Maryland at the YUM, always loaded with talent, who will give us a big time test.
I agree with Rasta1, until UConn is beaten, they should remain number one. I wish we played them this season in regular season. I honestly think we could make it a real game for a change.
So, here's my top five:
2) South Carolina (until we play them )
Add Ohio State to number six from all I've read.
Huh, three of them just happen to be on our schedule.
